In 2012, Jenny Ahlstrom took a massive stride toward changing multiple myeloma care for patients across the US. Her own diagnosis inspired her to launch HealthTree Foundation, a not-for-profit dedicated to supporting patients living with blood cancers. Recognizing that patients from all communities needed accessible, patient-friendly resources, she made it her mission to level the playing field for all.
In recognition of her efforts, GSK awarded Jenny and her colleagues with their Think Tank Challenge Grant – a monetary award for nonprofit organizations with ideas that could transform multiple myeloma care. We had the chance to hear from Jenny and Tania Small, Global Medical Affairs Therapeutic Area Head of Oncology at GSK, to learn more about the challenges of treating multiple myeloma and how they are working to make a difference to patient lives.
