What's in the Capsule?

Answer: anything that will fit! A competition challenges artists to create a masterpiece that fits inside a pharmaceutical capsule

What?

The “Art in a Capsule” competition invites artists worldwide to create masterpieces that will fit inside a pharmaceutical capsule – perhaps a tiny sculpture or a piece of rolled up artwork. The winner will receive $5000 in prize money. Second and third place will receive $3000 and $2000, respectively.

Who?

The competition is being run by the ACG Group, an Indian company focusing on capsules, films and foils, manufacturing and inspection machines.

Why?

The company’s founders, the Singh Family, are passionate about art. The family has over 400 individual paintings and sculptures, and has been supporting artists for over 50 years. In this new competition, the aim is to showcase the synergies between art and science and to “encapsulate” the imagination.

How?

Entry is free of charge and the submitted artwork can either be a new piece, or something that has been created in the last 5 years. Further details are available at http://artinacapsule.com/.

When?

The last date for submission is May 31 2019.
