Tell us about the 2015 breakthrough products that are shaping the way you work

Last month’s Power List generated a tremendous response, with tens of thousands of you downloading the issue, viewing the feature online, and sharing it on social media. If you missed it, you can marvel at the Power List at www.themedicinemaker.com/the-power-list-2015.

We’ve certainly got you all talking, so now seems like the perfect time to unveil the latest venture in our mission to record, scrutinize and celebrate the industry – our inaugural Innovation Awards. The Innovation Awards will recognize breakthrough technology released onto the market during 2015. New equipment, software or instruments from any area of drug development and manufacture are eligible – and there's still half a year of potential innovation ahead of us. Innovation is a word often bandied about by marketers and consultants, but true innovation can be a slippery thing. With the Innovation Awards, we want to recognize new products that represent a real leap forward. This is no place for incremental improvement, important as that is – we’re looking for revolution, not evolution. Entries will be put to an independent judging panel, who will decide which transformative technologies are worthy of a place in our December issue. In addition, the groundbreaking invention chosen by our judges as the greatest innovation of 2015 will have the chance to share their development story in a future issue. Individuals, groups or organizations are all eligible to nominate a product for the Award. Vendors are encouraged to submit their latest and greatest products, but we would also like to hear from those of you using the technology ‘in the trenches’ in labs and factories. Remember, we can only consider those products nominated, so if there’s a great bit of kit you’ve been raving about to your colleagues, we want to hear about it. Celebrate innovation in our industry by submitting your nomination online at tmm.txp.to/0515/Innovation or by emailing me at: charlotte.barker@texerepublishing.com.

About the Author(s)

Charlotte Barker

As an Editor at Texere, I’m working closely with our audience to create vibrant, engaging content that reflects the hard work and passion that goes into bringing new medicines to market. I got my start in biomedical publishing as a commissioning editor for healthcare journals and have spent my career covering everything from early-stage research to clinical medicine, so I know my way around. And I can’t think of a more interesting, challenging or important area to be working in.
