Claire Thompson

CEO, Life Agility Sciences

  • Profile

Meet Claire Thompson

Thompson is a multi-award winning scientist, the CEO of Agility Life Sciences, Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Cambridge, and a former footballer who launched and fully funds the Girls In Football Teams (GIFT) Grants, which support girls’ and women’s teams across the UK.

What is the most interesting or little-known fact about you?

I'm a shoe addict! If you have been on a video call with me, you will have seen the wall of shoes behind me in my home office ("Shoedio").

If you weren’t in the pharma industry, what would you be doing?

I would probably be a footballer. I was pretty good in my younger days. I use the skills I learned playing football every day in my business life: tactics (I'm always scenario planning), maintaining momentum when things are going well, motivating others (especially when things don't go to plan), and understanding how to get the best (not the most) out of people.
