Meet Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw
From a tiny biotech start-up company launched in 1978, with a seed fund of 10,000 Indian Rupees and run from her garage, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw has transformed Biocon into the largest publically listed Indian biotech company. She is also known for her philanthropic work in the area of affordable healthcare delivery and she is the second Indian business leader to sign “The Giving Pledge.” In 2016, Biocon made its debut on the Asia IP Elite 2016 list.
