Elsevier has created a free information center on coronavirus 2019-nCoV that compiles clinical research, including content from medical journals, textbooks, clinical experts, major health organizations and more (1). The information is available in both English and Mandarin.
At the moment, no specific antiviral agent is available for treating the virus and there is no vaccine. However, researchers have already posted a sequence of 2019-CoV in a public database and some companies and institutes are already looking for a vaccine, including Massachusetts biotech Moderna, which is working with the US’s National Institutes of Health, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and the Vaccine Research Center (2).
As of January 29, WHO reported that 6065 confirmed 2019-nCoV cases have been reported globally – the majority in China – including 132 deaths (3).
